THEY may be made to brave the icy cold winds of Antarctica, but the penguins at the Cotswold Wildlife Park have been cooling off during the summer holidays.

Ducking and diving into their enclosure’s pool, families enjoyed watching the birds waddle around in the sunshine at the Burford park.

And for some of the black and white creatures this was their first taste of summer weather.

Spokeswoman for Cotswold Wildlife Park Debbie Ryan said: “We have got some young chicks that hatched in the spring and they are out and about with the adults at the moment.

“Our breeding programme is going really well.”
