MORE than 3,000 speeding tickets were issued to South Central Ambulance Service vehicles in 2013/14.
The 3,306 tickets added up to a total fine of £330,600 and the top speed recorded by a SCAS vehicle was 96mph.
The tickets were issued after the vehicles were caught by speed cameras, which do not differentiate between emergency vehicles and other cars.
Health bosses have said the automatic exception for emergency vehicles should be better enforced.
The figures were revealed in a Freedom of Information request obtained by the BBC.
