LIZ PERETZ writes (July 7) that it would be cheaper to allow refugees trying to board lorries at Calais into the UK and have their entry cases judged case by case.

The number of immigration centres built would have to be trebled to cater for this.

Good news for security companies and solicitors, bad news for the taxpayer. Plus EU dictators would hinder the deportation of those “refugees” found not to be entitled to refugee status.
