Council at cross-purposes over brown bin payment
ON SATURDAY July 11, I received two letters from Oxford City Council.
It all started some months ago. I received a bill from the council to pay my brown bin by July 2. On July 6 I sent off my cheque.
So I was shocked when I opened two letters – the first one reminding me to pay my bill or they will remove the bin, the second one thanking me for the payments.
There’s our council trying to save money – with the cost of the postage, there goes the interest.
