Two threats to kill incidents in the centre of Oxford are being investigated.

Thames Valley Police said the two attacks took place earlier this month in St Giles.

In the first incident a 26-year-old man was waiting at the X13 bus stop near the post office in St Giles at about 5.15pm on Friday July 10.

A man then approached him and verbally abused him.

During the second offence, the same victim was waiting at the X13 bus stop at the back entrance of the Ashmolean Museum in St Giles at just after 5pm on Tuesday.

A man approached the victim and verbally abused him.

The offender then grabbed the victim by his jacket, causing it to rip, before  walking off in the direction of Jericho, shouting as he walked.

The victim believes the offender was the same man who shouted at him on Friday July 10.

The offender is white, in his mid thirties to mid forties, clean shaven with thin blond sideburns.

During the incident on July 10, the offender was wearing a light brown top, a camouflage bandana and three quarter-length trousers. He was also eating food from McDonalds.

During the attack on Tuesday, the offender was wearing a blue anorak and a blue hat.

Investigating officer, PC Emilie Tomann, part of the patrol team at Cowley police station, said: "We have a detailed description of the offender, so if you recognise this description then please contact police immediately."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
