THE headteacher of Wood Farm Primary has said he could not imagine working anywhere else after he celebrated his 10th year in the job this week.

David Lewin was surprised by staff and pupils when he walked into the dinner hall to find a party organised for him to honour his decade as head.

Mr Lewin said: “I really love it at Wood Farm.

“All the staff find when you work in a school like this it’s hard to imagine working anywhere else.

“It was a very different school in size and the building we have now is completely different, but I always remember when I started it being a really friendly school.

“It was in a bit of difficulty, it wasn’t quite getting the results it wanted to.

“We made our own changes. Now we are getting much better results and are above the national average.”

Mr Lewin was persuaded to talk to the kitchen staff about school lunches on Tuesday afternoon.

And when he marched into the dinner hall, he was greeted by all the staff and pupils with a huge cheer.

The former Oxford Brookes student added: “It was fantastic. I went in and it was all decorated out.

“Some children gave a little speech and we had a little party. I was oblivious to any plans.”

The original primary in Wood Farm was replaced with a multi-million-pound building, which opened in 2013.
