Sir – The proposed HS2 train will become another Tory white elephant just like Concorde became.

The estimated cost of building the high speed rail line is £58 billion where as experts say the true costs are likely to reach £100 billion.

Only the wealthiest folk will be able to afford the high travel cost, so the whole idea should be scrapped and the money saved to help the struggling National Health Service.

The UK can do without an expensive Tory toy.
