I’VE now had two good bikes stolen in under a year, both from the centre of Oxford and parked in bike racks with a heavy duty lock.
Last Saturday morning I left it for 45 minutes at the top of New Road and by the time I returned, it had gone.
There must be people going round on a regular basis looking for bikes worth stealing. The police are checking the CCTV in the area and trying their best, but I doubt I will ever see it again.
I despair. I guess I will have to stop bringing my bike into Oxford city centre other than to work, where it is parked securely under CCTV. It would be good if the City Council could instigate a blitz on this bike crime - there must be so many victims in Oxford.
