THE northbound carriageway of the A34 has reopend following a crash that left one person in hospital.
Five other people were injured in the incident, which occurred between near Weston-on-the Green towards Junction 9 with the M40 at Bicester shortly after 3pm.
A number of vehicles, including a lorry, were involved.
The southbound carriageway was also closed but reopened at about 4.30pm.
There is congestion on the A34 Western Bypass all the way back to the Pear Tree Interchange, and on the B4030.
It is believed a second crash has occurred near Hinksey Hill, with a recovery vehicle spotted.
There are heavy queues headed towards Hinksey Hill from Abingdon.
South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Michelle Archer said: “One patient was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
“Five more people were treated at the scene but did not need to be taken to hospital.”

CrossCountry trains said its northbound rail replacement bus services between Oxford and Leamington Spa weren delayed by up to an hour due to the crash.
