A LORRY caught fire yesterday when a number of aerosol cans exploded.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service was called to Oxford Business Park South in Cowley at 7.46am and found a lorry that was “badly fire damaged”.
Firefighters believe some aerosol cans in the lorry had exploded after being left in the sun too long.
Fire crews from Slade Park and Rewley Road worked to cool the rear of the lorry, but it is unclear where the gas cylinders were at the time of the explosion.
Incident Commander Will McPhail said: “If these cans had been within a property the consequences could have been much worse.”
