AN OXFORD man has been charged with numerous offences after a window was smashed at a business in Wheatley and more than £400 was stolen.

Peter Gaughan, from Falcon Close, was charged with burglary, handling stolen goods, assault, criminal damage, driving without insurance and failing to provide a sample of breath for analysis relating to incidents in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

The 31-year-old was charged with burglary after a window was smashed at a business in London Road, Wheatley, and power to computers and CCTV was pulled out on June 6.

According to Thames Valley Police, an alarm panel was ripped off a wall and more than £400 was stolen at about 7pm.

The force added the other charges relate to an incident on July 4.

Officers said a car was being driven near Maidenhead where the driver was stopped. He had no insurance and was suspected of being unfit to drive.
