An investigation into five suspected illegal immigrants spotted jumping off the back of a lorry has been passed to border control officers.
The alarm was raised after security staff at Unipart opened a truck from an unnamed European country and the five men jumped out and fled the distribution centre in Garsington Road, Cowley.
Home Office spokesman Keir Ferguson last night said that three of the men were held in immigration detention and the two others were released while their asylum applications were pending.
