THIS is a bit late but I am now feeling better.
On May 23, the day before my 90th birthday, I was taken to A&E at the John Radcliffe Hospital as I was having breathing problems.
I must have dozed but when I woke there was a banner across the wall with “Happy 90th birthday” on it, then the nursing staff came in singing Happy Birthday and a lovely young lady arrived with a tray with a strawberry cake for my birthday.
Don’t you think that was wonderful?
She said they had it made that morning. I can’t get over how kind they were.
Then I went up to 7B Bay II and got wonderful treatment, from the tea trolley people to the doctors and nurses. They were fantastic. The food was very good too, although I didn’t eat a lot because I was unwell.
If I had gone private, I could not have got better treatment.
I thought I would let them know through your paper how grateful I am.
