As readers can see from our fantastic pictures, Cowley Road Carnival was just as full of noise, energy and colour as ever before this year.

The annual event is among the most hotly anticipated in Oxford’s calendar.

The range of music and food on offer was incredible, providing something for everyone, and featured styles and cuisines from across the globe.

This year’s theme, Creating Our Future, was especially appropriate in the year when Oxford Brookes turns 150.

Both the university and the carnival demonstrate the diversity and creativity of Oxford, challenging the stereotypes sometimes associated with our city.

We hope both will continue long into the future.
