A LETTER to South Oxfordshire District Council leader John Cotton regarding Morrisons appearing to abort plans to open a supermarket in Wallingford:
Dear John (!!) Oh dear I can absolutely assure you that Lynda Atkins does have full and detailed knowledge of the planning process, and it seems very clear that your “little amendment” at the very, very last minute which “came out of the blue” appeared to all of the town’s supporters of this supermarket coming to Wallingford, and to most councillors, that it was a last ditch attempt to say “No” to Morrisons.
Your little amendment clause was passed after Morrisons had submitted its plans which were approved by the council, so why don’t you just admit that you, and a few other people who don’t live in Wallingford but profess to have our interests at heart, just didn’t want it to go ahead at all.
DEBBIE JAMES
