A pocket watch inscribed by Sir Winston Churchill has been sold for £12,000.
The 18-carat gold Dent watch, right, was a gift from Sir Winston to G Wallace Carter, who helped organise lectures in the run up to the Liberal Party’s 1910 election victory.
It was sold at auction in The Swan antiques centre in Tetsworth, on Thursday.
Auctioneer Tom Keane said: “It is going to China sadly. We publicised it to English buyers but the Chinese bidders paid more.”
