GHOSTLY tales, dystopian thrillers, historical fiction, fantasy fables and comedic yarns are just some of the stories in a new anthology about Abingdon.
Students at Abingdon School have taken to their keyboards to pen a collection of short stories inspired by the school and the town which has been whittled down into one book and released.
The project began four months ago and the students – and even some teachers at the independent boy’s school - have turned their hand to a variety of story genres.
Historical fiction author and the school’s writer-in-residence Jason Hewitt wrote a specially commissioned story for the book.
He said: “It was an opportunity that I couldn’t possibly turn down, and has been a fantastic experience.
“My experience at Abingdon has shown that many of the boys are not only avid readers but also very talented storytellers, which is reassuring.”
