ABOUT 40 Oxford residents attended a rally outside the Bodleian Library in solidarity with the people of Greece today.
The campaigners oppose further austerity in the country, which is in the middle of a financial crisis and faces a referendum to decide its future on Sunday.
Those at the rally were supporting calls for a "No" vote, rejecting the terms of a previous bailout offered by the country's creditors.
The rally was called by Podemos Oxford, the local branch of the Spanish anti-austerity movement.
It is one of a number of rallies being held across Europe in support of Greek opposition to what they describe as "EU-installed" austerity.
