SOME people build Lego space ships or cars but one rather unusual creation popped up in Oxford this week in the form of Hertford College.
College home bursar Dr Andrew Beaumont has been modelling away for about four months to create the Lego replica of the college’s Catte Street buildings.
The 30,000 brick model is 6ft-wide and took pride of place at the college open day on Wednesday.
Director of admissions Matthew Hiscock said: “The Lego has been a lovely talking point for the open day. People see a mini replica of what they have just walked through, then they can walk around the back of the model and see the interior.
“It is not quite exact as our college does not have an alien research laboratory in the basement and our principal Mr Will Hutton does not have a Bat Cave or a Batmobile, although we do think of him as a superhero.”
