Sir – Today after a few days away riding my motorcycle in France I had to return to work, and what a shock I had, seems that half of the Woodstock Road into Oxford has been gritted with stone chips.

Better still, whoever committed this terrible crime never filled the potholes before doing it, so us on motorbikes get dragged into them, and as for the chippings building up at the side of the road that’s foreign land to us.

Does Mr Transport Council man have no idea what’s going on? Does he not realise what a waste of money that is? No I suspect not, he is probably a cyclist who comes into Oxford a different way.
