Sir – Following David Tinson’s letter, another section of the Welch Way path in Witney is also a disgrace. This is not the only part of the town where the uncut grass is an eyesore. What will visitors to Witney think?
It is also very discouraging to all the local residents who maintain their gardens with such care. It is making parts of Witney begin to look like a slum and this is the Prime Minister’s constituency.
No doubt the lack of grass cutting is due to financial cuts. I was once earning so little money that I did not have to pay income tax but I kept my garden and house looking tidy and well cared for.
Let’s hope the councils will take this responsibility seriously and maintain a good standard of care to make Witney a town to be proud of.
