Sir – The kerb stones on The Plain which were replaced in April had to be removed and replaced in May since they were not the required dropped kerbstones, causing considerable disruption to wheelchair and mobility scooter users. The inordinate expense of rectifying this error is a shameful waste of the taxpayers’ money.
Furthermore, the paving stones on Magdalen Bridge which were perfectly stable and fit for purpose have been unnecessarily replaced and in my opinion the work is not up to standard.
