IN TRUE Harry Potter style, four primary schools from Witney took part in a Quidditch Cup competition.
Pupils from Hailey School, Madley Brook, Finstock School and the Batt School all took part in the event on Friday. The event began as an initiative by Ignite Sports UK to get more children involved in PE and sport at school.
Based on the flying broomstick game made famous in the Harry Potter books, it features two teams of seven players mounted on sticks, played on a hockey-sized pitch.
The pitch is rectangular with three hoops of varying heights at either end. The goal is to have more points than the other team by the time the snitch, a ball inside a long sock hanging from the shorts of an impartial official dressed in yellow, is caught.
