THERE is nothing quite like sharing a cuppa with friends.
Staff at Daudhar News, in Horspath Road, have been serving hot drinks to raise money for St Francis CoE School in Cowley.
The family-run shop held its annual fundraising event on Wednesday to help buy new school equipment for pupils.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘Cuppa Day’.
Activities included face painting, food and drink, a tombola and raffle.
Owner Amarjeet Daudhar, 26, said: “My family has owned the shop for the past 27 years and we have followed the tradition to support our local school.
“The reason why it was started up was because everyone is always busy and needs a few minutes out to have a cuppa with local people and friends.”
He added: “It’s just nice to know that we are helping these children for the better.”
About £350 was raised on the day.
Mr Daudhar, said: “There was a massive turnout and it has just been great to have been part of the community in the last year.”
Daudhar News will also have a stall at the school’s summer fete on July 10.
