ASSISTANT Louisa Fagan is staring down the barrel of lots of fun at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum.

The Woodstock attraction opened in July last year in the Oxfordshire Museum’s grounds in Park Street.

Today staff and volunteers at the military museum will host their first family fun day to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

Ms Fagan, 25, from Oxford, who has worked at the museum since March, said there would be lots of fun activities from 10am to 5pm.

She said: “We will have den-making in the garden and a camouflage workshop including dressing up and face-painting.

“Cadets from the Royal Flying Corps will help with the den-making and they will also do drill on the hour.

“There will be treasure trails for children and throughout the day there will be refreshments.

“This is our first family fun day since we opened last year so we are hoping as many people as possible come along.

“People can get in after making a donation, so it’s a good opportunity to come and see what’s on display at the museum and take part in the fun day.”

Ms Fagan is posing with one of the museum’s exhibits, a Mauser rifle, a weapon used before the First World War and during the Boer War.
