A 22-YEAR-OLD woman was assaulted in Witney's Market Square as she walked to a taxi rank with a friend.
The attack happened between 3am and 3.30am on Sunday, May 31, after the victim had left Nortons Bar.
Thames Valley Police today released information about the assault and CCTV images. Officers want to track down the people pictured as they could have information that is key to the investigation.
Three women approached the victim before the attack took place.
The first offender asked the victim where she was going and hit her in the face when she replied. The other two offenders also punched the victim in the face.
A member of the public then pulled the woman away from her three attackers.
The victim's face was left cut and bruised but she did not need hospital treatment.
PC Sarah Matthews, who is based at Witney police station, said: "We are releasing the CCTV images and appealing to people who were out in Witney that night and may recognise the people in the images.
"We are keen to speak to the people shown in the CCTV as they might have vital information about the assault.
"The Market Square is a busy area and any information about the incident will be useful."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
