CURRY lovers visited the Tree Hotel in Iffley to raise money for victims of the earthquakes in Nepal.
The hotel hosted an Indian curry charity evening featuring a cookery demonstration by managing director Kavita Pal.
Ms Pal shared her culinary skills with guests and revealed her secrets for cooking a delicious and healthy curry.
After tucking into her curry, accompanied with rice, salad and yoghurt, guests took part in a fundraising auction and raffle.
The money will be donated to charities helping victims of the earthquakes, which hit the central Asian country in April and May, killing about 9,000 people.
Thursday’s event raised £700, taking the total raised by Ms Pal to about £3,000.
She said: “It was absolutely brilliant.
“It is a handsome sum of money we have raised.
“The plight of the people of Nepal was too much for me to bear. So many people died and were maimed and injured, it really affected me.
“My son said to me: ‘We cannot just sit here and watch this. We really have to do something.’”
