A 15-year-old schoolgirl who died in Chadlington in West Oxfordshire on June 11 was found hanged, a coroner's court heard.
An inquest into the death of Chipping Norton School pupil Jennifer Fry from Stonelee Close, Chadlington, was opened at Oxfordshire Coroner's Court today.
Coroner Darren Salter said Miss Fry was last seen by a friend at 8.10am walking towards a wooded area known as Brooke Forest in Chadlington.
She did not go to school that day and when she did not return home in the evening, her mother Deborah Fry asked friends where she had gone and went to look for her.
She found her hanged at 4.30pm.
Ambulance crews attended and confirmed her death and an initial police report confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
A postmortem examination confirmed death by hanging.
A police investigation into Miss Fry's death is ongoing. The full inquest will be heard on Tuesday October 20.
