ARCHERS, tanners, stonemasons and falconers are invited to Oxford Castle for an interactive Medieval Day on Saturday.
Running as part of Magdalen College School’s Arts Festival, the event is set to “explore the city’s cultural roots.”
Eight-year-old Douglas Baird, a pupil at the school, said: “It is fun to dress up as a medieval person.
“It really transports you back to that time, especially being here in the castle.”
On Saturday, visitors will be given the opportunity to interact with medieval cooks, archers and leather workers in addition to watching members of theMedieval Siege Society stage battle re-enactments.
Artistic visitors can also book on a calligraphy workshop to design their own medieval letter, while children can step back in time to meet Robin Hood at drop-in storytelling sessions.
The day also features archery with the Oxford Archers and Millet Farm Falconry’s birds of prey exhibition.
The event will be running from 10am to 6pm at Oxford Castle, with a Medieval Day Pass costing £15.
The Magdalen College School’s Arts Festival is running at various city venues until July 5.
