PROTESTORS gathered outside a city college to campaign against adult education cuts today.
Members of the University and Colleges Union (UCU) held a protest at the City of Oxford College in support of the union’s national #lovefe campaign.
The campaign was launched after it was announced England’s adult further education budget would be cut by 24 per cent.
Stephen McCormick, deputy chief executive of Activate Learning, which runs the college, said: “Cuts to the adult education budget will have an impact across the further education sector and Activate Learning is taking positive and appropriate steps to minimise the impact of these and other cuts on the education and training services it provides.
"We are currently consulting with colleagues on these steps.”
The protest came two days after the union held a lobby at Parliament against the cuts.
