Staff at the Museum of Natural History will find out on July 1 whether they have won a £100,000 national prize.

Art Fund Prize judges will visit the Oxford University museum in Parks Road today.

On Monday the museum’s famous Dodo returned home after being taken on a tour from Land’s End to John O’Groats, visiting 22 museums along the way.

The tour was organised to mark the museum’s nomination in this year’s Museum of the Year awards.

Museum director Prof Paul Smith said: “The Dodo Roadshow has been incredibly successful.

It has allowed us to make contact with museum colleagues across the length of the country, to celebrate their collections.”
