A WONDERLAND of music, magic and Mad Hatters is set for St Hugh’s College as it hosts an outdoor performance of Alice.
The 14-and-a-half-acre Oxford college site will provide the backdrop for Creation Theatre’s 19th annual outdoor performances on golden afternoons throughout the summer.
From Tuesday, August 18, to Sunday, September 13, the theatre company will stage the show in celebration of the Lewis Carroll storybook’s 150th anniversary.
From falling down the rabbit hole to meeting the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and the Queen of Hearts, the adaptation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is expected to delight both young and old.
Creation Theatre’s general manager Charlotte Morley said: “The St Hugh’s College gardens are a stunning setting.
“We will be peering around the flowerbeds, running through the rose arch and playing croquet on the lawns to tell the story of Alice in Wonderland in the most magical way possible.”
Music, puppetry and acrobatics will make up the show that will be held in the gardens of St Hugh’s College in St Margaret’s Road, Oxford.
There will be matinee and evening shows at 2.30pm, 5pm and 7.30pm.
