FILM fanatics can look forward to a new-look cinema after Oxford’s Ultimate Picture Palace underwent its latest makeover.
A new screen has been installed because bosses at the cinema said the old one was beginning to look a little worn.
New speakers have also been installed to enhance the sound quality of films that use mono sound as opposed to surround sound.
The Jeuene Street cinema, which launched a year-long programme of dementia-friendly screenings last month, was given a £20,000 refurbishment in 2013, including lighting and decoration.
Work was done as part of an overall £100,000 revamp from 2010 to 2013, the cost of which was partly raised by members of the public.
