A 75-year-old’s bank card was stolen from an Asda cash machine in Wheatley.
The man was withdrawing cash from an ATM at the Asda store in London Road on June 1 at 9.07am when he was distracted by a woman tapping on his shoulder, police said.
The woman brought the victim’s attention to a £20 note on the floor, and asked if it belonged to him.
Officers said another man then swapped the victim’s bank card with another similar-looking card.
Police said a third man was then seen with the man and woman before all three left together.
Later on a large quantity of cash belonging to the victim was withdrawn from ATM machines.
The first man was white, with short dark hair and was wearing a chequered purple shirt.
The woman was white, with blonde hair, wearing blue trousers and a horizontal stripy white and blue t-shirt, and plimsoll-type black shoes.
The second man was white, with short dark hair, of large build and was wearing a dark blazer, white shirt and blue jeans.
Police have released a CCTV image of three people they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
