The A40 Northern bypass has now reopened following an accident between a motorbike and a car.
The road was closed both ways between the Eynsham and Wolvercote roundabouts following the incident shortly before 10am and drivers were advised to use alternative routes while the crash was being dealt with.
The road was reopened shortly after 12 noon.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Charlotte Redman said: “We were called at 9.51am to the crash on the A40 at Wolvercote and ambulance staff also attended."
South Central Ambulance spokeswoman Michelle Archer said the male motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries.
She added: “The injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and the patient was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.”
