HISTORIC aircraft and military vehicles will be on display at Bicester Heritage at the weekend for the first Flywheel Festival.
The festival will run on Saturday and Sunday at the former RAF Bicester base, and will allow visitors to chance to get up close to some of the oldest and most valuable wartime aircraft and cars. It will be the first major event to take place at the site since the base closed 18 months ago for renovation.
There will be about 50 historic racing cars on display, along with period music performances and a vintage trade fair.
Visitors can also watch displays from the iconic Supermarine Spitfire, the sole flying Bristol Blenheim bomber and the “Tiger 9” Tiger Moth team.
Event director Richard Grafton, 50, said: “We are hugely excited.”
The festival will be open from 10am-6pm each day.
