Speed limits began on sections of the Eastern bypass yesterday so a water main can be repaired.
Drivers will be restricted to travelling at 30mph on a stretch of the Eastern Bypass near Normandy Crescent for at least six months.
The limits will be in place while a £6 million scheme to replace a water main alongside Normandy Crescent in Oxford is carried out.
Residents on the street were left traumatised when their homes were flooded last September after a water main burst for the second time in seven years.
