SCRUMPTIOUS Indian food was one of the draws during the Oxford Summer Mela.
Organised by Oxford Hindu Temple and hosted by mental health charity Restore, the event on Manzil Way, off Cowley Road, featured a range of stalls selling Indian treats like samosas, curry and bhajis.
Raising money to build a Hindu temple in Oxford, chefs, musicians and play areas for children helped bring the community together.
Organiser Kanta Gopal, a teacher from Abingdon, said the festival was a chance to meet other Hindus and nonHindus that people may not have met before.
She said: “It is a community event and it went very well.
“The food is brilliant and I am pleased with the turnout.”
Voluntary chef Jiwan Sharma, from Oxford, added: “It is a family festival that we celebrate and something that really brings the community together. I love it."
