IT’S probably not the best idea to try to ride a bike and eat candy floss at the same time.
A rather unsteady Simon Baker, seven, was one of the revellers at the second annual carnival on Osney Island in Oxford in 1985.
Hundreds turned out to enjoy break dancing, an all-women morris dance team, two merry-go-rounds and 20 stalls.
Later, the Hollybush and Waterman’s Arms were packed for band music and barbecue food.
The proceeds were shared by Helen House hospice, the Royal National Institute for the Blind, Cancer Relief and the Ethiopian famine fund.
