EIGHT MEN were arrested on suspicion of GBH after a fight broke out in Banbury last night, police have said.
Police said at about 9.30pm they were called to reports of a serious disorder in Woodgreen Avenue, involving several men.
In total eight men from Banbury in their twenties and thirties were arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH. Three of those had to be taken to Horton General Hospital for medical treatment.
Officers said a knife and a baseball bat were also recovered nearby.
One man's leg leg was broken and he was today still being treatment in hospital.
Following the incident officers recovered three vehicles - a silver Vauxhall Vectra, a Fiat Punto and a Volvo.
Det Insp Steve Raffield from Banbury CID said: “We are appealing for information about the traffic collision in Orchard Way and the fight which took place in Woodgreen Avenue. We believe those involved were known to each other and there may have been altercations between them prior to these incidents.
“We have made a number of arrests but we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything with regard these incidents and has not yet come forward to the police.
“We are increasing patrols in the area and would urge anyone with any concerns to please get in contact.”
