A WOMAN was threatened with a knife and a car and jewellery were stolen in an aggravated burglary near Wantage today.
Police said two men knocked on the door of a house in Letcombe Bassett at about 11am and pushed past the 44-year-old when she answered.
They then threatened her with a knife and stole the jewellery and a blue Audi A3.
The woman was not injured.
One of the men was described as 20-years-old and white.
He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.
The other man was described as white and was wearing a hooded top.
Det Insp Michael Roddy said: “I would like to reassure local residents that incidents such as these are rare in Letcombe Bassett and that we are carrying out a thorough investigation.
“The local community will see a visible police presence in the village while we continue our enquiries.”
