MANY people will remember a time when they were terrified of monsters hiding under the bed.
But children at Fir Tree Junior School in Wallingford conquered their fears when they took part in an art project that saw them make their own versions of creatures lurking in their bedrooms.
The What’s Under Your Bed project was the latest art competition for children at the school and was also open to pupils at St Nicholas’ CofE Infants’ School in the town.
Children were invited to submit their interpretations of what lay under their bed, expressed in three dimensional artwork.
The work was then exhibited in the Fir Tree school hall and children and parents were invited to come along and see the creations.
Fir Tree pupil Logan Easton, eight, said: “My model was made out of milk bottle tops and pipe cleaners.
“The best bit was twirling the pipe cleaners around.
“I really enjoyed this.”
Fir Tree Junior School regularly offers a range of arts competitions and initiatives for its children.
It was awarded the Arts Mark Gold Award for its work last July.
