There was no chance of sloppy work with a bobby standing over you.
These children volunteered to clean police cars for charity at Cowley Police station in 1987, but before being let loose, they found their elbow power under inspection by Pc Matt Jenkins.
The youngsters, aged 11 to 13, were members of St Andrew’s Church, Headington, and organised the wash to raise money for the Church of England Children’s Society.
