THE MAN suspected of killing Philip Howard, Janet Jordon and Derin Jordon is employed as an apprentice gardener for Didcot Town Council.
According to a town council newsletter, Allen joined the council’s gardening team in September 2013.
Newly elected leader Charlie Robertson confirmed Allen, being hunted by police after the murders in Vicarage Road, still works for council. He said: “I can confirm that Jed does work for the council.
“As far as his employment record goes we have had no problems.”
He added: “Our thoughts go out to the families of those killed.”
Mr Robertson, who took over as council leader last Monday, said he did not know Allen personally.
On the 21-year-old’s Facebook page, he listed his education as having been at Marlborough School in Woodstock.
Allen did attend Abingdon and Witney College, where he studied for an NVQ Level 1 and 2 in horticulture.
Neighbours of Allen, from when he stayed in Wensum Drive with the three murder victims, described him as a quiet man.
Stuart Beck said: “The guy Jed kept himself to himself.
“He never spoke, he would put his head down and keep walking whenever I saw him.”
Riz Marino, 25, another former neighbour, said: “He was quite a big guy – 6 ft 2in. He was quite quiet but never seemed aggressive.”
