Sir – Perhaps through your letters page you could help to solve a mystery?
I refer to Uncle Sam’s Vintage American clothing in Little Clarendon Street which has remained closed for some time.
There is a sign on the door that informs potential customer’s that Uncle Sam’s ‘gone fishing’. Yet the premises is full of stock so the proprietor must still be paying rent and rates.
None of the retailers I have asked can shed any light on the mystery man or woman who now has the shop.
Can any of your readers solve this mystery or even Uncle Sam himself could enlighten us.
