The man who died after plummeting from the top of a church tower in Oxford city centre has been named as David Alan Brunton.
Mr Brunton, who was 39 and lived at The Row, Hinton Waldrist, near Wantage, was pronounced dead by paramedics at noon on Tuesday after being found at the foot of the tower of St Mary the Virgin Church in Radcliffe Square.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding it is being carried out by the coroner's court.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned yesterday by Oxford coroner Nicholas Gardiner and a full inquest will be held in due course.
