Sir – Sally Copley (Letters, January 15) suggests that the Labour party offers the only credible challenge to the coalition parties in Oxford West and Abingdon.
The problem for those of us who really care about the future of the NHS is that it was not safe in Labour’s hands either.
The ideologically-driven rush to the market, in the absence of any evidence that it would help, and the eye-wateringly expensive private finance initiative for hospital building (now dubbed ‘one hospital for the price of two’) under the last Labour government, are two of many compelling reasons why voters should think seriously about voting for the National Health Action Party.
As Sally Copley’s leader has committed himself to the same austerity budget as the Tories, many voters will be looking elsewhere.
Dr Helen Salisbury, National Health Action Party candidate, Oxford West and Abingdon, Oxford
