Sir – While I’m all for diversity in politics, I’m rather confused by the sudden proliferation of parties in Oxford.
Coming hot on the heels of the National Health Action Party, which presumably could equally be titled the European Union, immigration, foreign affairs, environment, education, transport and defence inaction Party as the NHS is not relevant to these aspects of public policy, I now see that there are two Green Parties in the city.
There’s the one we’ve had for some time, which tends to oppose almost all house-building and renewable energy facilities such as wind farms, and the one for which Larry Sanders purports to be a candidate, and which he claims will “build hundreds of thousands of really affordable homes” and “invest in renewable energy”.
Presumably only one of these can be the real party of that name and voters deserve to be told which is the genuine one.
