Sir – I have mixed feelings about the National Health Action Party standing in Oxford West and Abingdon. They might attract voters who understand the damage Labour and the Coalition have done to the NHS and who would have voted for me because the Green Party has long opposed its break-up, privatisation and underfunding and because I personally have been active in that battle for more than ten years.
But I can’t be too critical of a group of dedicated health workers who see in their surgeries every day the harm being done to their patients, and who want to get that understanding to the public who get lots of misinformation from the billionaire-owned Press.
I hope that voters will believe them when they say, as the Green Party and I have been saying for years, that the past actions and the announced plans of Labour and the Coalition parties are leading the NHS (and county- organised ‘social care’) to disaster.
The NH Action Party and the Green Party have virtually identical policies to restore a viable and public NHS, free of profit takers.
The Green Party adds to that policies to:
l Tackle the one per cent who avoid paying billions of their taxes
l Build hundreds of thousands of really affordable homes
l Invest in renewable energy and insulation programmes which will create a million decent-paying jobs.
Thousands of people are joining us in the battle to create a decent society for everyone. Welcome!
Larry Sanders, Green Party Parliamentary Candidate, Oxford West and Abingdon
