A WORKER who started shouting after getting trapped inside a supermarket van prompted a police investigation into a suspected abduction attempt.
Thames Valley Police said yesterday they were investigating reports that a 15-year-old boy was approached by a man in a blue van in Shannon Road, Bicester, at 4.20pm on Monday.
But last night the force said there was no abduction attempt.
A force spokesman said: "We have fully investigated this incident and are satisfied that an attempted kidnap has not taken place.
"Witnesses came forward to report that a worker became trapped in a supermarket delivery van on Shannon Road shortly after 4pm.
"She called for help and it is believed this is what the boy heard."
